The photo of the LVT1 was taken in the states in 1942, it shows a 75mm PAK howitzer mounted in an LVT1. This was a stop gap fix for giving the LVTs more firepower before the LVT(A)-1 was designed.

The last photo is from my trip to the national archives last year. The caption said that the pilot walked away from this "Hard" landing. What about the LVT crew?

dharper,
Those last two shots look a bit "kit-ish' if you know what I mean.
The second one's light looks wrong. The third one the trees are a bit iffy (and knowing my luck the last two are real and the first one is a scam :o.

second is a scam, shadows are hard on the photo but not on the gun. plus no shadow on the "body" of the gyn, yeah that can happen on 10 am or 2 pm.

must have been a good job, they even added the reflection of the gun in the water filled tire/tread mark in the sand!

Uhhhh? They are all real photos from NARA II. No photoshop or retouching here, but your responses are facinating!! You guys aren't IPMS/AMPS judges are you?

You two got in before me as I had a few thoughts.....
I don't think dharper is trying to scam us with kits and the other thing is it's a complement to those building kits that it’s possible to produce such real life reproductions these days.

Interesting photos dharper, thanks

Heya, Dave,

How's it going? Can't wait fer the new "Modelling the Pacific Sherman" Book or the LVT-1...any ETA on either? Any new aftermarket LVT stuff for the existing Italeri kits...?

As to the first photo with the LVT-(A)4 with the roof hatch... Did the crew build themselves a field-expedient roof...? Any chance of any overhead angle on the mod on the turret...?

Thanks fer the photos!

Aloha,

Johnny B.
