Hello friends
I am looking into building the Stug IIIG in 1/35 scale for the Normandy campaign 1944 but I am not sure which: Tamiya or Revell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best regards,
Panzerfist ;)

Both could be used. The Tamiya kit as is and the Dragon/ Revell kit with some minor modifications, these include:
- don't fit the Rundumsfeuer machine gun mount, these were in short suply for several months starting from May 1944. Block off the opening with a round plate with four bolts.
- don't fit Nahverteidigungswaffe, also in short suply. Block off in same way.
- Use zimmerit ( from f.e. Atak).
Alternatively you could build the Tamiya Stug and modify it with a cast gun mantlet deflector for the commander's cupola and zimmerit. ( Don't use the bolted on hull armour.)

Add to above.
I've never seen pics of Stug III in Normandy as described in the Revell kit/ configuration. These did appear in Arnhem however.

if i were you then i would choose the tamiya kit. i just happen to think that revell doesn't build really good model tanks 1/35. i really like tamiya and that is what i build. i would choose that one.

Hi,
actually that is not Revell's model originally. It's a derivation from Gunze-Sangyo Hi-Tech model to Dragon all-plastic model. It's not that bad for it's price but of course if you want an easybuild with minimum plastic scraping and sanding, then it is Tamiya.
Cheers,
