Can't do any modeling right now as I am watching my little girl, but can manage to do a bit on the PC.

Thought it might be fun to post some of my long forgotten projects. Most I will proabably never finish as I was unhappy with were the model stood.

First up, DML Panzer III w/SIG 33. Not a bad kit, needed a bit of clean-up. Was planning on using it in a Stalingrad dio but lost steam. I am unhappy with the paintjob (and this is the third attempt).

Moving on to my DML 250/9 with Eduard PE set. I really dislike having to do interiors and wasn't happy with my messy build on this one.

Here is a shot of my Tamiya Marder III M. Hated the camo after applying it, so I gave the kit to a buddy for spares.

Another quick shot of DML's Maus. Fun build, got to do some armor texturing, use a bunch of paint, dream a little....but again unhappy with the paint work.

Alright, now a kit that I did put some TLC into. DML StuG IV early with Eduard PE. Not sure why I stopped, I think I just got distracted. This is the kit that I have robbed the tracks and muffler off of for my Jagdpanzer IV build.

Tamiya 223 kit, tried some whitewash.....

Tamiya kubelwagon. Nice little kit, wasn't sure where I was headed with it.

Now some of my early models. First the DML Hetzer that was weathered way too heavily!

Now the Tamiya 222

And a shot of my Maquette Panzer 35(t),

Some various odds and ends...

Trumpeter AS-90. Big kit!

http://www.kitpic.com/is.php?i=8829&img=P1010069.jpg

Trumpeter STRV-103B. Nice little kit, unhappy again with paint.

http://www.kitpic.com/is.php?i=8830&img=103B7.jpg

DML SU-85. Didn't seem the right shade of green.

http://www.kitpic.com/is.php?i=8831&img=SU855.JPG

Italeri Leopard 2A5.

http://www.kitpic.com/is.php?i=8834&img=leo23.JPG

And finally two fun ones.

This Abrams was for the group build over on Armorama called Twighlight 2000. The concept for the build was to model vehicles in a sort of post-apocolyptic world. This Abrams was heavily modified by the locals into a Road Warrior type machine. The white are hundreds of spikes that have been welded to the exterior. Anyway, kinda a fun one should finish it up for the hell of it.

Last but not least, the AMT/ERTL kit of the Tie Interceptor. Lousy details and fit, but looks kinda cool!!

THere are plenty more, but the rest aren't even painted yet. Sad eh?

Aha, someone else whose interest in the AS90 kit kind of petered out ;) I can see a lot of similarities between your stash and my stash - except that your kits are actually complete or nearing that status! Anyway, my excuse regarding the AS90 at the moment is that I'm waiting for confirmation as to whether Sweden's adopting the vehicle or not. Now that would be an impressive vehicle in Swedish splinter camouflage...

Bet none of you have over half a grand’s worth of 1/16th Tiger Is (that’s 2 full kits) with nothing to show for your troubles.
1 I got for a birthday, from her indoors, and after I had got stuck in to back dating it I needed the other one to combine the first one to get a “two into one good one” or if I had left it alone I’d have the 2 Tigers complete and painted.
The hulls look down at me when ever I enter the hobby room and its extremely disconcerting.
That’s only one sad tale of failure I have but the only one ya get for now (depressing just writing about it).

The 90 in splinter camo?? That would be so sweet!!!! Not easy to do, but well worth it.

And yes, the stash is somewhat eclectic. A mix of German and Modern. I am really starting to dig the modern Soviet stuff. Great, like I will ever get any of those kits done!! :)

Wow...wish I could just have one Tamiya 16th Tiger!

No they are Friuls and have now been robbed for my Jagdpanzer IV build. By making that move, I've probably doomed this kit. Shame as I really should follow through with this one. It's one of my better works.

Stuke, it does look like you did have fun building them! Like the M1! Dan*

Most of them were good to tune me up. But the lack of finishing is starting to bug me. I need to realize that I cannot make models like MIG, Mirko, Dinesh, Dave Parker, James, etc and just be happy with what I can do and what I am learning how to do. :)

Thanks for taking a look guys, I thought it might be kinda funny to see some of this old stuff.

Here is everything all wrapped up into one shot......

lol well I can't build at your level so 'be happy!'

I really like watching in progs.. it's great for learning!... and this VBench is a treasure trove.!!.. Not like some of those Network54 forums.. where you lose touch of a kit.. here you can always check back on the ones your really intested in keeping up with!

great stuff Stuke!

Don't sell yourself short Charlie. I think your work is quite good - better than mine!!

Funny how we are our own worst critics.

And yes, the vBench is the bomb!!! :thumb:
