Hey mates,
as I wasn´t totally pleased with the outcome of my first serious Vallejo-try on the Luchs-Guy, i decided to repaint him using mainly Oils in an easy session.
I´m definitely not a Jaume Ortiz (:(), but maybe the blog is of a little help for you.

First i stripped the whole figure with Alcohol.
Next thing was replacing the Kragenpatten against etched ones from LionRoar (i usually do this everytime, don´t ask me why i left them when i first painted the fig).

The Plastic ones.

The etched ones from LionRoar.
The LionRoar set is excellent, i can recommend it to everyone.

The whole etchwork.
The Schulterklappen were attached on the first try too.

Next will be priming, i will keep you posted :).

The Kommandant is wearing a Drillich whose color is Schilfgrün (the tone can vary).
As the last time the uniform was to dark, i went with a lighter tone this time.

I mixed the color from these Tamiya-paints.

And primed.

I will not repaint the head in this thread as i still like it.
But you could paint the head similar to how i paint the uniform. :)

Ok, next step is washing.

http://www.arcor.de/palb/alben/15/936715/1152_3737376637363631.jpg
I made a darker green tone using oils and a few drops ModellMaster ChromeYellow (makes the paint dry faster and the yellow gives the green a lighter shade) and thinned that with lighter fluid (again helps the wash to dry faster).

The whole figure is covered with the wash...

...and after a few seconds of drying, the excess is removed using a soft brush.

Next step, highlights :).

It seems like i´m able some kind of "live" painting  .

That was me of course :( .
And it should mean:
Seems like i´m able to do some kind of "live" painting...

On to the first highlights.

This is the color for the first highlights.
I used oils and again a bit of the MM ChromeYellow.
I mix those on cardboard because that absorps the oil from the paint which makes them easier to drybrush.

I drybrush from the top to the bottom, just as the sun hits the clothes. This makes the shadows more realistic (even though it´s hard to see on these pics).

Next i paint all the seams with black Oilpaint.

Now i will let that settle for a while and go on with the next highlights.
I will not show more steps for the highlights (as i think all of us know how to do that  and i don´t want to bore you), then i will go on with the detailpainting.

I hope you like it a bit :).

The last steps.
After several highlights, all blended into the shadows with a soft brush, i went on painting the details.
All details were done with Vallejo, except for the metall parts where i used MM Chrome Silver.

All details, except for the belt (will receive a further coat of black), shoulderboards and collar patches are painted. The beltbuckle and the Panzerkampfabzeichen will receive a wash of black.

The collarpatches can be painted easily.
First they are painted yellow (or what else you need).

http://www.arcor.de/palb/alben/15/936715/1152_6165633635656165.jpg
Then i let run thinned black into them.

And the skull needs to be painted. Not perfect but the pic is really pic  .

http://www.arcor.de/palb/alben/15/936715/1152_6234393935643636.jpg
Here the figure is sealed with flat future.

And reinstalled in his working place.

I hope you like him.
I think he looks way better now.
