Hey Guys,
while Iīm waiting for the Friultracks for the Luchs i decided to start another 1/72 build.
As some of you may know, I like these new little kits from Revell as the detailling and fit are great even ootb.
But as I like to test myself from time to time i decided to do some extra work on the Pz. III Ausf.L .
I will not use any aftermarket-stuff for it :).

I opened the "Rommelkiste".
I removed the flap and build a new wall (the one toward the turret) from Evergreen Sheet.
The flap itself had to be sanded thinner, same with the walls (sorry, donīt know if that is the correct english word) where i used a blade to thin them down a bit.
After that i layed in a tarp (fixed with Future) and some equipment. The equipment will be removed for sanding and painting once the future is dry and the tarp hardened. Some more equipment will follow to hide those ugly pinmarks.

Weld beads will be made from stretched sprue and the massive handles have been cut away and new ones from thin wire were made.

A close up on the weld beads.

Thatīs it for now, i hope you like it (even though itīs just 1/72 ;))

Hi Markus,

You're having a bit of a building spat it seems !? Nice work. But a shame the pics don't show a lot of detail. They're a bit fuzzy. You might wanna try a dark blue background.
And I think, as the Evergreen is on your desk, you could make a new hatch for the stowagebox from sheet as well. Takes care of the pinmarks and is more in scale

Cheers, MartinD

Markus,

As always, your work is excellent. Can you explain the tarp procedure? Did you just soak some tissue paper in future as opposed to diluted white glue?

Nice work :thumb: Has the cupola taken a hit?
Alex Clark (where ever he is) and Steve Zaloga are 2 others who's work this reminds me of.

Thanks for the kind wors mates!

Martin,
I think there isnīt a need for a new hatch as there isnīt a pinmark on the one i made out of the closed one (the pinmarks are in the bin where i can cover them with equipment).
I tried to make one out of thin styrene to get one more to scale, but i had a hard time to glue that, so i ended like you can see here ;).
Most of itīs thickness wonīt be realized once itīs painted i guess.

Michael,
first i put the tissue paper into the stowage bin, after that i dropped some future on top of it. Then i formed it until i liked it. Itīs just that i used my last white glue for the luchs base and i was to lazy to go shopping

Steve,
yes, the cuppola has received a hit. Good eye!
I want to depict the Pz.III damaged behind my already built Famo.
I think the work of Alex Clark and Steve Zaloga is lightyears ahead of mine, i just try to improve my skills a bit on these tiny tanks. :)
