OK so here is a quick build of Dragon's Tiger I "Late" with molded Zimm.
I was quite excited when this kit first came out and bought two of them.
I'm not sure now if I should have done that, but we will see what the finished product looks like.
Anyway, here's part one, basic assembly almost finished.
Cheers,
Donovan

Very interesting looking model. The zimm doesn't look half bad!
I look forward to seeing how it appears of some painting and weathering.

Hi Donovan,
The part that you did not know what it was is the rear turret lifting point.
Looks like a nice kit except for the turret side visors. They look like lumps of zimmerit. Are separate visors to be added over these lumps? If not, were are the visor slits? :o

I got this request from Chris- wonder if anyone out there can help us out?
James,
You got any clear pics of Tiger I Late in Normandy from the rear? Looking
specifically for things to put on the back. I've got an unrepairable mold
problem and need to partially cover the left rear engine vent cover. On the
one I'm depicting this is just above the jack which was apparently moved to
the left side on this Tiger. The Tiger is question is 007 from sPzAbt 101
Normandy, July 1944.
I don't mind taking some artistic license on this one because it is for a
friend, but I don't want to put fuel drums on the back either, know what I
mean??? I've got pics of this sort of thing in Russia, but that late in the
war with the fuel shortage and lines being what they were I doubt anything
like this took place in the west.
I also plan on removing some of the track guards because there are no
locaters for these on the kit and also to create interest.
One last thing. Side cables. They are missing from this vehicle and I notice
in photos that this is the case on some Tigers, but usually not both sides.
What were these small cables used for?
Thanks man, I know it seems long winded but really I'm only asking two
things.
1) Typical stuff piled on the rear, what kind of stuff would you see there?
2) What were the side cables on the Tiger used for.
BTW -- the more I look at this Tiger I of Dragon's the more I think they've
actually done a fairly good job.
Cheers,
Christopher

No visors Saul, you are on your own there. I guess one could make them either from sheet or cut slits in the mumps, I have not decided what I will do yet.
Thanks,
Donovan
