interesting subject. not based on real occurance?? The top pics woold be better for me without the type- its too over powering of the rest of the image. The straight colour shots of the model are my favorites. Did you use some decals for the uniform insignia?

Hello FAUST

Excellent diorama! The second and third pics in B/W looked like WWII pics.

Great work on the whole project.

Actually it does... The idea for this dio came from 2 pictures I saw in the book Armored Units at Arnhem september 1944 by Marcel Zwarts from Concord. On one of the first pages you`ll see two pictures of this little scene and I thought it was a really nice one to built. When you check out the First Update (http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=PostBoard&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=17610&page=1) I did on the Jeep and you scroll a bit down you will come across the two Original pics that provided the Inspiration for this dio.

Did you use some decals for the uniform insignia?
Nope none of that all I handpainted all of the insignia.

Great job Faust. Can you give a break down of the kits used? Personally I much prefer seeing German stuff captured, based on my theory that the only good German vehicle is a knocked out German vehicle, but this is a very interesting and well done dio.

Ola Guys

another two familiar names :)
Can you give a break down of the kits used?
Sure I can do that. Here comes: The Airborne Jeep was Built out of the new Tamyia Jeep
The 37 MM PAK is also from Tamyia
The figure that is putting the PAK on the jeep`s towhook is from the DML Panzergrenadiers at Arnhem Set only adjusted the arms for this figure to match up the hands with the legs of the PAK
The Guy leaning against the Jeep is also from DML`s Panzergrenadiers at Arnhem. I adjusted his fingers to really Lean/hold against the Jeep
The Guy that is standing on the other side of the PAK is a mix of several figures The Body was from DML`s Ambush at Poteau ( the guy with the cig at his mouth) his arms are from the Panzergrenadiers set (the walking guy) His head and helmet are from Verlinden
The Sparewheels in the back of the Jeep are all from the Scrap box
The Stuff hanging on the gun is a mix from Scrapbox and donations from other DML boxes

This is more or less the sum up of everything used and about the Captured German or Allied armor. There is one thing they have in Common..... They are no more in the hands of the rightfull owner

See, I didn't even know that was a PAK. Thought it might be a British two pounder or an American 37mm. Didn't have a clue as to the figures. Only thing I know about DML German figures is the jealousy I have every time I look at the 15 or 20 DML German sets for every allied set. I think I've got Every DML WWII American and British set, and that's not saying much. Ow well, once they finish making every SINGLE German unit that ever existed maybe they'll start giving us Allied modelers more stuff. I am looking forward to their D Day 29th Infantry set.

Hey Faust,

Again nice job on this dio. Regarding finding the decals for the jeep.

You might be able to find them on the Archer Fine Transfers website.

That's www.archertransfers.com

I hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck.
