hi guys this is a kubel i'm currently working on (anyway i have to put it aside for awhile as a serious one is enterring my benchtop tomorrow ... more to come soon !)

actually the building for this one is finished and the base paint is done, but i will have to wait for weathering it ... so much projects .... sooo little time !

i am working from the famous picture of a kubel crossing the Seine River in Rouen on one of the last bridges during the retreat from Normandy.

Amazing work using the foil Franck. I can never get it to cooperate when I try to replicate features with it.

the foil was bended following the stamped method :

i took the kit parts as a master then i apply the foil over it. I then take a tooth pick shaped rounded and slowly and carefully i bend the foil mm by mm. the front fender took me about 15 minutes to obtain the good shape without any dent in it.
once shaped i take an all brand new X Acto blade and i cut the excess.

what i've done here is :

applied a dark wash
paint chipping
a first coat of dust with dried MMP powders

Awsome stuff FRank.. what kind of foil do you pro's use when doing this stuff.. like kitchen cooking foil?

VBench's are cool Frank.. better than newsgroup posts.. cause all your stuff is in one thread.. going forward.. easier to navigate.. I'm sure we'll be visiting your posts frequently!!!

well i'm not sure if "pro" is really a word depicting me but ... i will take the compliment :)

for lead foil i use something really dedicated to over 21 years old modelers :
the foils that are around the wine bottles .... 2 pleasures in one finally :) just drink the wine AFTER the scale modelling session hehehehe

Hey,SSit's not about speed right- not a race ;)
This looks real nice Frank, you seem to have really mastered the use of the pigment powders, I know that your work in the Model mag articles has inspired me to use them. They, (the articles) have been a major reference for this 251/9 I'm doing. I was hesitant to get into them until recently although I did have a couple of small jars of some stuff I picked up years and years ago before Mig even brought his out. I got them while browsing through a Train oriented model shop. I think they have been using the stuff before us armour guys. Thanks for sharing.http://members.shaw.ca/hetzer/fritz.gif

James, I am a production supervisor. For me, it's always about speed!! :)

Seriously though, you are right. I'm just amazed by the speed and quality that go hand in hand with modeler like yourself and Franck.
