Hi to all, its being a wile since my last update but finally I have finished the diorama for the stug IV, I don’t have photos of the famo+ trailer build as I started it about two years ago. I took photos of the base process and the stug was already posted, so here are the photos…….

I started by making the parts using a rubber mold an plaster, then you put all the pieces together to form the street.

And this is how it looks when finished….

Then using another mold I created the side walk

Next using styrene I constructed the fence pillars to make a mold from it.

And for the pillar top I used a piece of the side walk, sanded it smooth and cut it in two squares one bigger than the other and glued it together

Here are all the parts assembled, this is how its going to look completed….

The mold is made and the parts are ready to make the fence, I’m using a verlinden gate
And a metal fence parts I found in Kmart from a Christmas set

This is the overall look of the fence with a damaged corner…….

http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x171/Fledermaus1/SDKFZ%209%20Famo/17.jpg

Next I started the painting step by giving it a wash with black and dry brushed with shades of grey and followed with some pastel powders, also painted the fence and added some static grass and silflor to the back of the fence and two street lamps on the corners

http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x171/Fledermaus1/SDKFZ%209%20Famo/Picture57.jpg
http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x171/Fledermaus1/SDKFZ%209%20Famo/Picture61.jpg
http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x171/Fledermaus1/SDKFZ%209%20Famo/Picture62.jpg
http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x171/Fledermaus1/SDKFZ%209%20Famo/Picture060.jpg
At the end I changed the bent fence and put it on the floor as if it was blown from the force of the explosion. Well that’s all for the base, next pictures are the completed scene
With the famo and the stug together…….

thanks Kostas!! that was the first thing I noticed when I took the photos
the models look like Bright yellow and it is not like that, I'm starting to work with photo shop and did something wrong with the pictures and ended like that
I think it was the auto level adjustment plus the fluorescent light I was using when I took the photos, if you can compare with this early photos of the famo there you
can see the real color of the models...here is the link

thanks again flak, the base is 31" x 11" ,the famo with trailer are very big
so the base no matter how you try is going to be big....:D:eek:

My daughter and a friend of hers spent a couple of hours on a weekend making a road bed for me out of lentils... enough to cover two of those CD covers. I'm liking your idea better. I'm impressed by the work making the panels interlock.. I'll be spending one of these evenings with a bunch of graph paper and an eraser :)

Nice work and a very ambitious project - thanks for showing us.
