Yes, bigger pictures, please. Looks like a very nice build. I like all the vehicles based on the TNHP. DML has done a very nice job on these, for an everyday kit.

Nice, clean work.
It may be the angle of the pics, but does the MG sit a bit too far back?
I can´t see the "ball" in which it is fixed.

I just got started back into models last year, came across this site checking out Rick Lawlers Halftrack. I"m going to start a thread with that build in the next couple of days.
BUT.
OK I got a newby question, MDRS you have a great build there, nice and clean. But are the tracks attached? I ask because I don't see how you're going to paint this with the tracks and other detail parts in place.

Tracks in removable mode... ( for painting )... those images attached by gluetack.... if the paint was finished & detailing. tracks attached in static mode ( join it by glue )

I'm with ya on that one.....
I guess they paint only the exposed parts? I would think this is difficult but what do I know?
Actually now that I remember, I think the tracks and wheels are removable to paint.....

Hi ZC,
Excellent work so far in your marder. I know you mentioned this was your first time doing chipping and so far it looks good. I do have some observations, in some areas the chipping is too big. Most times chipping looks better when kept to a minimum. Also remember that chipping occurs mainly where there is traffic by the crew. Areas like under the gun will usually don’t get any chipping.
I hope my 2 cents help some.
Keep up the great work!

You are certainly moving right along with this one.
I think that I must agree with Dave about the chipping...it's a little on the heavy side so I would be cautious not to overdo it from this point forward.
It appears that you are making your chips in a very deliberate manner, I would suggest trying a lighter touch - I call it "dancing". While quickly moving your brush across an area let just the brush tip lightly touch the surface with the slightest of pressure. You will leave just a small marks that can later be expanded upon if needed, but usually these small hints of lines and dots will be enough.
Also, perhaps on those areas of the gun where you already have chipped, try a light filter or wash using your base color to help blend the chips and scratches into the surface finish.
Just my 2 cents...but now you are up to 4 cents!

You are welcome! Another tip is to wipe some of the paint from the brush before you slightly apply it.
Also, have you tried using a sponge instead of a brush?? Cosmetic make up sponges work good for this and you can get them real cheap.

You are welcome!!
Just remember next time you go to the mall. Me and the guys got a bagful of them in different shapes for like $1.00.
Never mind that people found it very interesting to see three guys shopping for make-up sponges and arguing about them. :p
Ahhh all for the sake of modeling

Hi MDRS,
The progress is showing. The build is comming along really nice indeed. One thing you could do is add a pin wash around the transmition hatch in the front slope, and around the tow hooks in the back just to increase definition. Of course the model looks good as it is.
