Hi Guys!

I would like to keep you updated on the painting stage in this build log. I should have made this topic earlier because of the construction stage. O well...

I want to paint the MAZ similar like this one:

I really like the faded colour on it so Imixed Tamiya Light Green X-15 with Yellow Green XF-4 (70/30) for the base colour. I still need to airbrush the tractor chassis and I want to add some more colour variation on the green painted parts.

It looks very "greenish" on the photos, which it is in real,.... :) But it is a very vivid colour to act as a base for different washes which will tone down the harsness a bit, at least,..I hope so
:D

Hey Jurjen,
this is one of the few modern vehicles I would build as this is one impressive monster!
Your build looks very nice and the colour you have chose looks like a perfect choice for me. It should look great once weathered!

Thanks Markus!

I spend this afternoon on some basic interior painting and painting the drivers panel. It helps to start on something simple and the advantage is that you get the 'feel' for the colours you need to use.

I will keep you updated.

Cheers!

First off,Jurjen your Maz looks great so far , hope to see pics when your done. I wish I had a look on here before I started mine. I used Tamiya Nato Green with about 15% Tamiya flat white mixed in and Nato Black on the chassis and rims. I noticed your rims painted green . Is this standard for this style truck or do the Soviets use both black and green ?
