Not sure where this is- (maybe northern afrika-ish? ...perhaps loading for the journey?) but it does show several tanks with the white wheels.

Two theories as far as I am aware. One was for parading through the city and the other was as a form of protection against the sun. But it's clear they were painted either on the boat or in Italy before shipping over as the one being offloaded has the tires painted also. I'm leaning toward the sun protection. Curiously it doesn't appear the Pz II tires are painted.

Perhaps the tanks from the 15th Pz div were in a parade prior to shipping to NA......no time to remove the paint, so it became their unique baptism of fire in Tunisia...
