Hello modelers.
I was about to start my first vb-thread but thought that I could introduce myself first. Perhaps you get to know me a bit and find it easier to make earnest comments about my coming vb-threads.
Well. My name is Mattias Larsson and I was born naked in 1973, Sweden. Always been intrested in the military and its history, particular WW2. Have done two tours as a UN soldier :thumb: in Bosnia (summer -94 and winter -95/96).
I've been modeling since -94 and its been mostly dioramas.
Below are some of my latest work for you who haven't seen it before. It's also the ones that I'm most satisfied with.
POLE POSITION: (can also be seen in the book "The Nordic Edge Model Gallery vol.1")

Also a fan of your work - the story telling in your dioramas is some of the best around. The action in Murderous Mist is some of my all time favorite in the diorama category... the three figures all fit the image and their interaction is really sells the tension. Looking forward to your vBench futures.

Hi Mattias,
Nice to meet you, for me your vignette Mourderous mist, is a little gem, this vignette has all, atmosphere, personality and high technical level.
I like it a lot.
Congratulations.

Gees guys, this was really a warm welcome.
I'm a bit moved by all your kind and encourageing words :).
I feel that there is some pressure on me now (in a positive way though) because of the expectations from some of you on my coming builds. I just hope I can live up to them.
I got so many plans and ideas for coming dioramas/vignettes but I think it's better to reveal these when their time has come to be built. Hope you don't mind if I might show a pure figure vignette here on PA.
Anyway, it's great to be here and your comments just did my coming weeks a lot brighter.
Thanks to you all :D.

Hi everyone.
I'd like to, in a humble way, flag for my vignette "Murderous Mist". For those of you who like it and want to find out more about it can read the next issue (no. 29) of Xtreme Modelling.
http://www.xtrememodelling.com/29_web/29_main.htm
It's not a genuine SBS-article, but rather a one that lets you know how I think when it comes to adding and working with figures and accessories. I'm trying to explain how to bring life to a vignette or a diorama.
So if you ever read it, I'd be very happy to hear what you think about it. Good or bad.

Congrats and well deserved, Mattias. Cover to boot! Maybe your experience is similar to mine...the building is easy, it's the writing that's the struggle.
I will certainly look forward to reading your article.
take care,

Yo Matthias,
"Murderous Mist" is a pretty cool vignette. Has it all. Congrats on that publication in Xtreme Modelling. Seems well deserved to me.
btw, I have read that a lot of you "Nordics" will be present at WE in Girona soon. I was about to go as well, but because of some unexpected nasty stuff, I have to cancel. Shame, would have liked to see your work "live"
Euro perhaps??

Just a question like that, do you use oil paint to paint everything?

Hi again and thanks.
Rick - You're absolutely right, the writing is the hardest part, especially if you have to write in a different language.
Robert - I won't make it to either World Expo or Euro M. -08. My wallet and I are not on the same level, so to speak. There will be some "Nordic's" present though, number and names not known.
But I will show up at Euro 2009, since our little group of modellers have decided to show up, at least, every second year. Visited in 2005 and 2007.
Gerardo & domingohm - Thanks, but I'm not totally new to this site. Just wanted to update this "old" thread with a hint of the coming article ;).
Cl4d - Hi. I use Tamiya acrylics for vehicles, buildings and groundwork. Figures are painted with Vallejo. Washes are done with Artist Oils (Winsor & Newton). Some details are painted with Humbrol Enamels, W&N and Printers Ink.
