I have the DML M46 Patton and I would like to give it USMC markings Were they yellow or white? The DML sheet has them in white Also how common was the canvas cover on the gun mantlet? Was the searchlight common as well?
Thanks in advance

Chaddus, my photo references from Korea are showing a predominance of canvas covers on Marine and Army M46's. There are some pics however without canvas covers, but it appears, (at least from my books), that the cover was more common on, than off.

The searchlight--the sources claim they were added beginning in mid 1952 for use against the Chinese night attacks, but drew frequent fire and were easily damaged when switched on. Most of the M46 pics I have from the period show the vehicle without the light.

Can't help much on the color markings. I had one pic with the Marine in yellow.
