Allo Members.
DML's Heuschrecke "Grasshopper" is a little gem of a kit. Not much to say, except that I was surprised how much I liked building it prety much OOTB. If you do have this kit, take notice of the pictures in the instructions, not the part numbers. There a few errors and omissions, but nothing too hard to nut out.

It looks quite nice!
Do you find the tracks to be a little thick? I wonder if it is an illusion caused by the camera.

HI Sheeds,
Great job on the Grasshopper. The subtely and detail of the paint is awesome. Great build too.
ALso, good job with the pics, you've captured the detail and tones of the paint - not an easy thing to do.

and Wow!
I remember you mentioning this at some point, but thought you had been spending all of your time on the MkIV? Really nice OOB, Tony - looking at your painted gun assembly, it looks really sharp for straight out of the box. Great weathering and nice subtle touches all around. Knowing nothing about this vehicle, can it be built with the gun in dismount?

Cheers Fella's, thanks for the kind words. :)
Pablo, you can build it with the turret removed and place on the ground mount. However, I think DML did the kit a disservice by omitting the pulley mechanism, and tow shackle needed to tow the dismounted turret behind a vehicle.

Nice work Anthony:thumb: Simple yet effective- nice to get something finished I'll bet! BOTB with a few added details here and there seems to get the job done.:thumb:
I wonder if you have any photos of the missing pulley syystem and tow shackle? I imagine there isn't much out there on this sucker.

Excellent job. I like the finish. Does the kit offer any of the upper pulleys and winching parts to lift the turret so if you wanted to pose it in a raised position??? Do they also include the catch hooks located on the inside of each end of the i-beam? Lastly is the attachment for towing the turret that goes into or around the gun barrel in the kit. I am interested in a purchase of the plastic one after doing a resin one which required much altering and repairing. Thanks

Nice build. I've wanted one ever since I read about some obscure Japanese release many moons ago in the old Scale Modeler magazine. I sent for DML's, and it is a nice kit.

Hi Sheeds,
That's one great looking vehicle. I like the tone of the Dunkelgelb, I think you've pretty much nailed it.
It would be fun to see one of these vehicles, with the gun turret being towed to a ground stand  It is a pretty strange vehicle, carrying a turret which is designed to be taken off :D
Cheers, MartinD

I'm really liking it. The weathering is subtle and beautifully executed. Nice contrast between the frame and the rest of the 'hopper.

Hi Members.
Sorry for the long delay in getting back to ya'll, work has been a killer. :(
Thanks for the kind comments, and below are some shots of the Grasshopper scanned out of Ground Power 22. I think these are all the same vehicle, but the first shots (taken during test firing I assume) is before the Germans finally got the configuration right. You'll note that there have been a few trial attempts at getting the boom locations right, as there is quite significant scarring where the welded on sections have been gas axed off on the hull sides.

Cool! Great pics. When the strike is over and the money is flowing again I'll have to hunt on E-bay to get that GP back issue. Thank you Mr. Sheeds!
