Calling all tread heads!!!

I am working on an idea for a diorama and need some info. The plan is to show split ground work and the same Jagdpanzer. First as Ferdinand in Russia and than as an Elefant in either Russia or Italy. I am going over my references and looking photos for the same vehicle in both forms. I am using Munch’s “Combat History of German Heavy Anti-Tank Unit 653” and Spielberger, Jentz and Doyle’s “Heavy Jagpanzers”. Any others where I might find the necessary photos?

I will be using Dragons Premium edition Ferdinand and Elefant with Eduards PE, CMK Barrels, Fruil Tracks and Archer Markings.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Curt

I would say Munch’s “Combat History of German Heavy Anti-Tank Unit 653” is the best shot for getting that sort of information.
I have this book and gunpower vol. 22 & 23 as well, but the gunpower volumes don't contain the same amount of information concerning individual vehicles.
Then there is 'Wydawnictwo Militaria #52' but this is entirely in polish, so that's not so usefull.

I don't have an specific answer to your question I'm afraid, but I'll be glad to help when you have set on a specific vehicle.

Erik,

I found that Ferdinand 633 of 654 became Elefant 102 of 653 and now is rotting away at Aberdeen. I have plenty of info on 102. I dont have any info on 633. any info or photo avaiable that you know of?
