Hello,
I have Anvil resin tracks for 251. Building those is easy as there isn't much to build. Problem is how to paint those?
I tried with Vallejo Flat and brush Black but outcome wasn't very good. Should I just paint with air brush like Fruil tracks?
TIA,
Niko

Why not? Is there an adhesion issue? Other wise air brush is the way to go.

Hi,
airbrush would be otherwise solution but easiest it would be if tracks could be dipped into paint jar:D
Vallejo paints do HAVE some adhesion issues and I personally have some "from airbrush to surface of model"-issues with those.
Anyway, just brushing wasn't good solution as paint cloggeg tracks. I'll try some Humbrol mix with airbrush. Let's see how it turns out.

Hey Niko this may be too late but vallejo paint have some tricks too them.
first off even if you use model-air pre-thinned for airbrush you may still need to thin them a little more..here is the key only use the vallejo dylutent..not the thinner (cleaner)or anything else..this BREAKS the paint down so it is very easy to come off the surface you paint.same goes if you are too hand paint.i find i need to thin these about 50/50.now a funny thing when i hand paint i find i can use distilled water for thinning but it doesn't seem to work with the airbrushing.very weird.also i find it very important to use a good primer coat for vallejo.it gives the paint a better surface to stick to. for whatever reason i find the paint doesn't stick very well to unprimed or smooth gloss painted sufaces..if you follow this no matter if you hand paint or spray your result should be much better with vallejo...
all this came with lots of trial and error...sometimes you may have to experiment before you find what works for you...

Hi Brian,
not too late at all as you can see from MY reply:)
Yes, I have a hellish time trying to make Vallejo paints to work. Those paints are quite difficult, almost impossible to make out out of airbrush nicely without harsh language. And after that, paints fall out by touching it:O
I haven't been able to paint for a while but I'll give it try with Vallejo paint and Vallejo? dylutent (Not the same as Vallejo thinner?). If all goes to ****, I'll bin my Vallejos and use only Model Master/Humbrol. I know it stinks but you can't have everything, right?
About priming, what do you use for priming? Hopefully some easy to obtain paint works like Humbrol etc.
Cheers,
Niko

any of them should work. i have herad good reports on the tamiya primers and i am going to give them a try as soon as my current supply of armory runs dry..
