RM386 SdKfz 232-(PART 1) 59.99
RM387 SdKfz 232-(PART 2) 39.99
Royal Models sets are really over priced. I can't afford that stuff right now.
I have just ordered a set of Hussar wheels from The Barrel Store, as I think they would be of better quality than the RM ones, judging from what other wheels I've seem from both manufactures.
I do have the old Eduard set, and while I reall don't like Eduard as I find it way too simplified for my tastes, I think I'll just use that one. But I am still interested in knowing what else is out there.

Hi James,

There are TWO Eduard sets, and one set from a LOOOOONG time ago released as a subscription gift to a magazine I received (Modelismo e Historia).

Truthfully, after getting the Hussar Wheels, a new gun barrel (I'd use the Armorscale one - depending on the vintage of the Sd.Kfz. 232 8 Rad you're modeling), and new fuel/water cans...there's not much you couldn't scratch yourself or find in the spares.

Would a photo of the Spanish set help any? Most of the stuff you can make yourself (like the Panzer and mount on the front by using the kit parts as templates, new mud flaps by burnishing lead foil over the kit parts, and so on). For some reason the PE sets expect you to replace 3D hinges with their flat stuff as neither of the sets I own are workable hinges.

Regards,

Regards,

I've got the one from '94. Probably when I started this model!
It's been sitting around and now with the strike layoff/Xmas hiatus, I've decided to finish all the models that are started but not done. I was stalled because of the fact that you mention- the frigging hinges in this Eduard set (and most of their crap:yell:) are useless. This was most likely one of the first PE sets I ever bought,(no wait it was the one from Eduard for the Bradely interior) and I think this was where I developed a real dislike for that brand of "UPDATE" set. I have decided to just go ahead now with the build using mostly out of the box hatches and stuff. You wouldn't believe the visor flaps that they expect you to use to replace the kits set. All I can say dear readers is really research any Eduard set you are thinking of buying- it most likely is a waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
