On HobbySearch site I have found this item as a January release:

I have not found any other info yet, but this seems to be a logical upgrade / mix of the earlier Tarawa kit. (I hope that the link works.)

It's on the Dragon USA site too.

It will probably more of an update on the M4A3 chassis. Late M4A2s had dry stowage, and this is one goof Tamiya had fallen in when releasing their M4A3 kit decaled for an M4A2. Ooh well, good to have this missing state of the art kit as well, and it has good potential for converting into ETO vehicles :thumb:

It's a late M4A2. One of the main lizard technical consultants admitted on M-L that he mucked up the research. It'll still be useful for Saipan, Okinawa and as a Russian one.

Well, late M4A2s had no wet stowage. They are the onyl 'big hatch' hulled Sherman to receive the applique armor on the hull. So, the basic designation is wrong.

I cannot vouch for the kitm and will not do so either. I still think this is a good move. And even it's a M4A2 late, it will be fairly easy to swap engine deck and rear plates and jknock out a correct OOB M4A3 75 W for an ETO setting ...

It is more than just an engine deck, rear plate swap. The belly pan is different as well.

A late M4A2 is welcome since it is fairly easy to add the appliqué armor.

Saul,

I knwo the belly plate needs work as well. But, for most modellers the engine deck and rear plate swap will do as the belly is not particularly visible.

Best, MartinD
