What books out there can give me good info on this German Ace.

Mainly I am looking for good photo reference (as well as writings), I guess particularly about the corner. Thanks for your interest.

found one account in Armor Battles of the Waffen SS 1943-1945.

Whilst it is fairly easy to find accounts based on German sources it is noticable that there are no US sources that even mention it.

Hi Gents

Plushy, can you post the link to your posts from Axis History Forum (or was it Feld Grau?) re "Barkmanns Corner" to illustrate the "battle" and further explain Michael's point that the loss of so much Allied armour in one engagement goes unmentioned in Allied documents.

its a good read still apart from in gettting in to a bit of a pissing match at the end . There are a few links in the discussion which also have more info .

Hi Jamie, Fellas.

Below are some shots of what are apparently Barkmann's Panther D's. The fist Panther D tac number "401" appears to be a Befehls, while the later D (one head light AA ring on cupola) '401" is a gun tank. There is also a shot of his Panther A "421", but my scan is of such low quality that I thought it's not worth posting.

Disregard the "2SS-Pz.Rgt.2", the first 2 was supposed to be a 1.

The pick of the shots. The composition of the crew and stowage would make this an interesting model....I think. :)

In the Turret of his Panther.

I hope you were after shots of his Panther D, James. :)

Did a search on WehrAward and found that the above thread is not the one that I think Plushy was referiing to - there are two about Barkman's Corner.
