Rick it has a new PE fret. See below
The kit only comes with two sprues and a large PE fret. Sprue H is shared with the Marder IIIH kit with the addition of the MG ammo boxes shown in the bottom left of the photo.

Sprue I and J is totally new. Sprue J being the engine and Sprue I is the interior for the turret.

PE fret is new. The ammo box holders and the floor board takes up most of the fret.

So is this better aka "louder" than DML's future offering? For some reason 38t has started to interest me.

Oh, I thought you had some insight  Anyway, as by reviews DML interior is only? plastic, Tristar simply has to be better. Which is less incorrect, is another question altogether :p

No, the kit has not been released yet. I have only seen the interior from the SdKfz 140/1 and I believe the new DML 38t Ausf G shares some of the interior from it for example the transmission, seats etc. Going from that it does look like the Tristar interior is more detailed.
A review of the kit from PMMS should be out soon and we would have a better idea then.

But here is one or is Cookie just pulling this "review" out of the hat?
http://www.dragon-models.com/html/6290-reviews-cookies.htm
Here is also another review by Frank V. de Sisto:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/477322/thread/1185674304/Kit%2C+DML+6290%2C+Pz.Kpfw.38%28t%29+Ausf.G+Smart+ Kit (http://www.network54.com/Forum/477322/thread/1185674304/Kit%2C+DML+6290%2C+Pz.Kpfw.38%28t%29+Ausf.G+Smart+ Kit)
Is it just that they are so "deep" in DML that they get pre-previews?

Damn Lawrence, you beat me to it. I got mine yesterday :D
Which if any kit are ya going to drop this into? I think I will do mine with the Ausf B
Niko, judging by the interior on the 140/1, the tristar is much more detailed. Who knows, maybe DML will retool for the Ausf G?

Well,
My contact in Hong Kong has not found me a Tristar Pz 38 (t) Ausf B yet, but when he does... :D
Thanks for the preview Lawrence!

Hi,
Here is a review of the DML kit with pics of the sprues and - more important - the instruction sheet. To me it seems that they totally modified the steering lever mechanizm and did it from PE just as Tristar did. The text is in Czech, but the pics are speak for themselves.

Thanks for the links Niko :thumb: I did read Cookie's review and I don't agree with him on the fenders. I may be wrong but I have not seen any Pz38t's with straight fenders.

I picked up the Ausf B along with the interior and am considering whether I want to convert it to an Ausf C.
It looks sweet, but I kind of thought it would be more than 2 sprues.:D:thumb:
So did I but personally I prefer less than more as long as it's accurate and well molded.

No problems, Saul. Let me know if you need any help to get the Ausf B.
Laszlo,
Thanks for posting the link. From the instructions the DML kit does look good.

mhhhhhhh http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif ... after being heavily tempted to equip my load of 38s with an full interior since i saw it first here i think i will leave this one out for one good reason (to me it's a good reason after all):
how much of the full interior besides the transmission and the motor block will be visible with open hatches when a commander and ro figure are inserted? nothing!
and if i built a tank workshop with a 38 with a lifted turret there is the problem of the "classic model kit style" turret ring ... it would be better if in this full interior set would be the parts included for a new turret bottom and the corresponding opening in the hull roof (like in the dml f2 (g) kit ) ...
tristar gives the chance to build a perfect 38 without any surplus work but to benefit from the full interior there would be some scratching again ... and this is not my piece of cake!
don't see this as a kit thrashing guys as in my eyes this set is wonderful but see it as some kind of constructive comment for tristar ... i hope mr pat can read this and sees what my point is ... and maybe casts a new turret bottom and its corresponding counterpart in the hull top (sorry me dunno the exact word for this ... too early in the morning) ...
you see what i mean guys?

Laura
I hear what you are saying about the turret ring. They did it for the Pz IV but not for the Pz 38t. Having said that, I had a look at the kit and pics of the real vehicle with the turret removed and it is not difficult to add the turret race. :)
Thanks Erik, I am not sure if I will be building this anytime soon as I want to sort out my library of books. It's a big mess at the moment and I always can't seem to find the books I want. I am going to group them by subjects rather than by publisher and hopefully that would be better.

Is it worth the buy, even with the hatches open?

It's only 10 bucks so I say go for it. You can use as much or as little as you like, it's a very nice set that adds a lot of detail.

Around here it costs 20 USD.:( One can get a Trumpeter KV-2 for that money.
where did you find it for $10?
