With the discussion over on my Panzer IV/F2 thread, Larry's mention of green glass seen in some film from Seelow Heights, caused me to dig out my two DVD's from International Historic Films, The Third Reich In Color, and The Third Reich In Color Part II, The Sequel. They are both pretty good although I do find the anti-nazi rhetoric on the sequel is a bit hard to take after awhile. The material should have been presented as a neutral historical document, not a vehicle for vehement Anti Nazi rhetoric. We all know what the atrocities were committed- but man every chance to paint these guys as evil-it is a bit much.
Anyways I made some rips using Mac the Ripper and played them on VLC player where I was able to take some grabs.

This one shows a Panzer IV with a different type of turret stowage box.

Hey, how 'bout this for an idea, almost everytime I see a photo of mechanics painting camo on a tank in the field, it seems to be in the shade of a tree. Do you suppose they traced,(loosely of course) the shapes of the tree branches and or leaves to make up the camo pattern? Just a crazy thought.

Laz

Now don't everyone go an post pics of guys painting in the direct sunlight. :p
