This is the Panzerfahre I am working on for the dio with the Schwimmwagen. This is an ADV resin kit, with MK bogies and Tracks. Tamyia Drive sprocket, final drive housing, idler, notek lite, horn and rear 4 hatches. The front open hatches are from TMD. The safty cable is from Karya on round stock, and orthodontic wire posts. All the white stuff and brass is scratch built! All Comment welcome.

This thing is going to dwarf that schwimmy! What are you planning on for color scheme?

Great looking build BTW. ;)

This is the rought outline for the dio:

Rivers edge, Ulm military district, fall 1943. The crew of the PF is going to take her for a spin in a large river (yet to be determined). The schwimmer is going to hang out, and get the crew off the PF if anything goes astray.

The PF has driven off the road, through a farmers field - upsetting 2 cows, and the farmer on his tractor (Plus model's Lanz) The rivers edge will be thickly covered in cat tails, which are obsucring a man fishing in a row boat, and the PF spalshes into the water, the row boat is over turned and the man dumped into the water. The Schwimmer and driver are going to be standing on bridge that crosses the river kinda looking on in horror!

Paint will be worn dark yellow over dark grey.

with that large amount of 'flat surfaces' on this subject, the pre-shading is gonna look really nice!!!!

Great work!

Ok I have made some progress here. What you see now is the semigloss coat just prior to filters / washes.

Very nice !!
The pre-shading came out amazingly !
Very well done ....
Dragon has announced this one ???
Never seen anything about it...
But it would be nice...some Friuls , some Eduard , stencils and two bad ass looking figures...
Hope its true !
Regards and congrats !
Julian Conde

Ps: Just a question , the exausts are not too pink ?

Julian - We are joking about dragon. As to the too pink - yes i agree, but right now its just ready for filters, and is in semi-gloss finish. The filters will tone it down alot. Thanks for the feedback - keep it coming!

I am slow....
Looking forward to see more of this model...
Is it a pain to built ? Large amounts of problems ??

Julian

Jullian - I have had the full spectrum of emotions while building this kit, at one point I almost tossed it into the trash. Unless you like a challenge, or just absolutly have a thing for amphibians (I must) then stay away from this kit. This is not a weekend project or even a good out of the box build, IMHO.

Well Major damage happened today. The Panzerfahre dropped off the desk :( I spent most of this evening fixing it. Please be honest, can you tell?

That's the worst it can happen to us....
My condolences....
But the kit is the same to my eyes.....
Keep on going....like if nothing has happened.
Regards
Julian :( :(

Damn- sorry to hear that- I hate when that happens- these things are soo fragile. Any damage doesn't appear to be apparent in these images. Looks like you dodged a bullet on this one.

I can't tell Sticky.. just like the build of the kit itself. you did an awsome job repairing it!... That shows a lot of determination, a lot of modelers would get frustrated and give up at that point!!!

Thanks guys, My eyes go right to the areas damaged, and I can tell the difference, but I spend 2-3 hours an evening with it, so maybe I'm too close. That you can't tell makes me feel much better. Thanks for the feedback! :) I have no one to blame but myself, I was reaching over it to get a smaller brush and it caught on my sweatshirt, when I pulled my arm back, off the bench it went. I guess I screamed pretty loudly, as the wife came down to the basement from the 2nd floor and thought I had done myself boldily harm! :o

Maybe I should start throwing my models off the bench in hopes that they start to look as good as yours! :)

Great start on the weathering. I find huge flat panels so hard to make look interesting, but it looks like you are going to manage this real well.

Now where is that seaweed that someone mentioned? :)

Ok here she is, 95% done. Still need to tidy up some details, and I'm gonna try a little pealing paint on the mufflers, somthing I have been thinking about.

Dude, that dingy is dead on...how did you manage that??

Oh, and the model looks great too! :)

Sticky

Thanks Stuke. It was base coated in a grey green color, then given a semi-gloss coat, then black, white and grey filters, followed by a flat finish. Then a selective burnt umber wash, and Dry brush with flesh on the ropes, and the duck boards.
