Moving my focus from the BRDM to this nifty little kit from Dragon. So far the build has been nice and clean and you've got to love the working tracks!!

A shot of the interior basecoated. No additional details added, this kit is pure OOB fun. :)

And my plans for displaying the vehicle using an old Verlinden bridge made of resin.

No fit problems yet, but when I do a dry run between the upper and lower hull, there are some gaps. I would recommend leaving the doors on the rear seperate at this stage, then once you join the two halves together you can place them on the model. Live and learn! :)

And as promised more images:

Painting with Tamiya acrylics. I tried to use some various shades to the grey theme using some dark blues, but hard to see in the shots. I might have applied it a bit too thin. :(

Thanks Charlie. Yes, the rifles did get a bit tedious, but they are all done now. Hopefully I can get some pics up tomorrow, no chance tonight after a twelve hour workday!

Got some weathering done this weekend on the interior. I am still learning with these MMP's, but I think with some practice some very good results can be achieved. I still need to clean up and blend some of the powders, but it's almost time to glue the two halves together.

Comments, criticisms welcome as usual. :)

Looks good so far. I have heard that the water barrel was only found in the ambulance version, so Im not so sure if that should be there. Other than that, its well on its way. I love my MMP powders - I will never go back to pastels!

I have absolutely zero reference on this vehicle so I am probably making a lot of mistakes. Perhaps it is a converted ambulance?? :)

I am still learning with these powders, sometimes I get resutls I love, then I feel I create a disaster (i.e. my BRDM). But I think they are definitely in my arsenal to stay.

Oh, I got the kit together and basecoated and was so displeased with the way it looked, I just threw it in the "unfinished projects" bin.

It needs a session with some oven cleaner.....

I had been very pleased with the masking technique on my non dead StuG project and wanted to continue to move forward with that weathering treatment on another model.

I thought it perfect to resurrect this long dead project and give it the same treatment.

Shots of the basecoat that I was not happy with, but with the whitewash would be mostly hidden:

Preperation of the liquid mask treatment:

Prep for the whitewash:

And the whitewash applied:

Removal next. I have also heard that a surgical glove and pencil eraser are easy methods of masking removal.

And the start of the "peeling" process....
