that looks like a birtsih sherman firefly to me.
it has the 25 pound gun.
and notice there is no machine gun.
on the fire flys the birts took the mg out.
so they can hold more ammo.
i have a fire fly in my pile its a great looking kit.
this is a great pic of one

I'd bet that it's a pilot vehicle or prototype. That could account for the very early hull it's mounted on and the fact that the ball mount for the machine gun is still present. The mount was removed and covered on production models. Also, not to nitpick (even though that's what I'm doing), it's armed with a 17 pounder, not a 25. m:-)

My first thought was that this was Soviet Sherman as the series of photos this was with seemed to be about that part of the conflict but the tank behind it appears to be Pz.Iv and there is one of those metal signs that you see at museum collections. ? Any ideas?
i just notcied the direct vision hull lol.
it could a candana sherman also

If I'm not mistaken I think that is the Firefly at Aberdeen Proving Grounds Museum I think it is based on an early M4A2 hull Or even an early M4 hull

That's what I thought the date on the back of the pic threw me off however. The metal sign looks similar to the ones at Aberdeen though ;)
