FWIW, this guy seems to have quite a few aliases, possibly doing business here on PA, buyer beware.

Thanks for the alert, I was interested in buying models from him on PA (got attracted by his low price of course, i don't have to mention his user name here, as you may all notice who he is by now ). Through some e-mail exchanges, I am getting more suspicious about him, why would someone from an EU country wants to deal in US dollars instead of Euros. Also he quoted me 15 dollars of shipping fee for 4 tamiya tigers and 2 books. That just seems to be impossible. I am from Canada and have bought models from Europe before and the shipping cost is expensive. After reading your message makes me feel very fortunate to not deal with him. Thank you again.

You probably just saved your money, better in your pocket than his with nothing in return.

May I suggest that the posts from this guy is removed from the site to avoid anybody else making that mistake ??

Some care needs to be taken here. I'm all in favour of removing a member who has taken another PA member for a ride, but has anyone on here been stung ?
Seems to have the possibility of guilty until proved otherwise.

Ian, normally I would completely agree with you. In this case this person is a well known scammer across the modelling community. He is instantly banned from all forums when he is discovered.

Who is he on PA?

OK, fair enoughski. If he is well known then I would agree with removal.

Guys I IDed this guy to the staff of this site several weeks ago when his "real good deals" started popping up here. I started to make a deal with him but as soon as he told me to make the money order out to Ken Meyers (his piper1944 logon said his name was calvin c) and gave me his Texas address I put a quick stop to the deal as I have heard several horror stories about this guy. He is from Texas and has a very sordid past on several other sites. Basically it comes down to him being a thief. Like I said I notified PA staff and asked them to investigate this guy and I do not know what happened since then. Don't buy from him because you will never see the kit. He should be in jail if what all they say on the other sites is true. Just be safe.

Yeah, thats him. Follow the thread that Mike posted at the begining of this one to Armorama then to ML and there is a bunch of information. You can also do a search on ML or Hyperscale and get some info but most of the threads have been deleted.

Thank you all for the input, the posts have been moved from public view and will be recorded for future audit and review. Should another website/webmaster need records we'll have them.

Once again for the heads up, I was giving the benefit of doubt long enough.

It's hard to know who is a scammer until someone gets hit. Thanks to everyone for the heads up.

: I can`t imagine that the police have not caught up with this guy, he has been scamming modelers for at least 5 years.

At this point I don't know what to think. I bought a Tamiya Dragon Wagon and book from this guy, and it showed up pretty much in a reasonable amount of time. I then bought a Tamiya FAMO that is MIA. I have kept all my receipts and e-mail of these transactions. I guess if I don't get the promised refund this week. I'll start looking into legal action.

That does seem a bit wierd, to deliver on one order and not the next, especialy as it sounds like the first order was worth more

Keep us posted :thumb:

I agree that it's wierd. I have had several e-mails back and forth today with Ken kind of laying things out. If I get my refund then everything is cool, and I'll pass that info along here. If I don't get the refund then I will be down at the post office making a complaint. I'm hoping for the best.

Any news Charlie ???

On the posititve side he is answering e-mails, and continues to promise a refund. Thus far he is making excuses for not sending it yet. I'm still in the wait and see mode. I'll keep you updated.

Looking through alot of the past history of this guy, this tactic is very familiar. A couple of good trades then you get stung. Always a bunch of empty promises for a refund of shipment with a bunch of excuses for the delays. My understanding is that he has been prosecuted before for the same thing.

Well Friday was supposed to be the day I got the tracking number on the refund. No reposnse to e-mails since Friday afternoon. I'll give it until the end of the day today, and then it's off to the post office to file a complaint.

Well sadly, but not surprisingly, I have gotten no refund from Mr. Myers, and only a predictable string of excuses for non-payment. I would like to pass along a link where anyone else who has had a problem with him can file a complaint. The link is www.IC3.gov
While my claim by itself may not be significant enough for law enforcement to want to take action, I'm hoping others who have been defrauded by this guy will join in. If the FBI gets a rash of complaints on this guy maybe they will take some action. I plan to post this same info over on Armorama. I would put it on Missing-Linx as well but I don't have posting privileges there. Maybe one of you guys would do the honors? Thanks, and I'll keep everyone posted.

Sorry to hear that Charlie. It does sound a good idea if the complaints against this guy can be collated, but perhaps best done and then submitted to the FBI as a complete dosier. I just wonder if they will take any notice with complaints that come in to them in dribs and drabs. Whatever, something should definately be done.

Hi there,
Apologies for dredging up this old thread, but has anything come out of this?
There are a few people including myself who have compiled information about this guy in an effort to spread awareness and eventually bring him to justice.

Although he is well known among most internet armor modeling websites, someone(s) always gets burned about twice a year.

It's kind of like those Nigerian check schemes. No matter how many news shows, articles and judge shows have covered people losing money to the same or similar frauds, new victims are scammed every day.

He recently tried scamming again on Missing Lynx and I hopefully called him out before any one did business with him. He was using an alias. He has four that I know about, Ken Myers, John Myers, Gilbert something or another and Rob Richards.
