So that I can start work on reproducing the colours for a diorama idea i have flying around in my head. I have a mental image of freshly welded plate steel, since most of my family are mechanics of one form or another. But I need a reference shot in front of me. Most of my reference books just have b/w photos and what i am searching for is a anything that looks similar to the machine or hand welded steel alloys used by the Germans. Can anyone help me out? The job of rain marked/freshly rusted primer is already underway and if I have any success i will post my results soon.

Here are some pics. Do a google search for more. Just type in "welds" in the image search box

I did a google search and didn't find the exact thing I was after. Thanks anyway. My aim is to find someone who has a link to a restoration build like the Littlefield Panther, but all I could find there were photos with primer on the hull.

Cheers, each time I put "Littlefield Panther" into google, I didn't get any Toadman hits. The reason I asked, is that Vallejo have some new metallic Model Airs out, so I thought I should give them a go.
