I'm looking for pics of T34-85 tanks marked "Lembitu".
A search on the net has only brought this picture from axishistory.com
http://www.axishistory.com/fileadmin/user_upload/u/ussr-t34-line.jpg
Does anyone have more pictures of these tanks?
Cheers, Jan :)

I have also been searching for pictures of Estonian T-34s from the net and have only come by this picture and one other (features T-34s with 76mm gun turret).
I would shurely like to see some more shots. I remember seeing a book about the Estonian Rifle Corps but didnt buy it at that time, If I see it again I will check if there are any other pictures in there.
I will bring up this topic in an Estonian forum and see what results
I get and will copy and post them here, translated of course.

Thanks Siim! I look forward to those results. :D
I've found a color profile in the Concord T-34 book, but it shows diferent wheels than the ones in the dragon kit. The decals for an Estonian "Lembitu" tank are in the premium edition, but i want to find out if it is correct ootb.

Ok so far I only have to copy here two pictures, no additional info. I know the T-34s are the wrong version but maybe they are of some use to someone else looking for these.

Hi again,
I got some more info. It isn't quite what you are looking for, but I will put it here anyway. This thread would be a good place for information about the tank regiment of the 8'th Estonian Rifle Corps.
So here it is:
In June of 1943 t-34 tanks were delivered to the unit "Za sovetskuju Estoniju". These tanks were built in factory No 112 "Krasnoje Sormovo". From the pictures it is visible that these did not have commander cupolas so it could be said that the unit got replacements later on. The tank pulled out from a lake in Estonia has a cupola and that tank was also a factory No 122 vehicle.
In 1945 another armored unit was created, named ''Lembitu''. When the first unit (The one that was created earlyer.) had slogans painted on the turrets in both in russian and estonian, then in ''Lembitu'' the slogans were in cyrillic. Because the year was 1945 the tanks were T-34-85-d.
Original poster is Urmas. I loosely translated the text.
I also found out that these two units never had estonian crews. The crews were brought in from other parts of the soviet Union.
I remember reading in the book ''Sinimäed'' that some of them were women.

Member Estoloog also posted a picture. It is taken when the unit returned to Tallinn after the war ended.
