I think it will take some getting use to and maybe some data is a little forgotten or messed up.. but this is the commercial standard software for forums. Progress for the planet- a new skin for us tank model builders (and RC ;) )

I see that my pictures are now a bunch of links to photobucket. Do I have to repost them or will this problem be sorted out later?
;)

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're back online!!!

Same question on the images and maybe a little post on the new features and a help guide?

Also what happened to the emoticons when posting?

New site looks great by the way!

OK, I worked out how to display the images

Go to Quick Links on the top bar and select Edit Options

Under the section of Thread Display Options select check Show Images

Make any other changes you wish to and scroll down to the bottom and select Save Changes

Paul

How did you get your signature to work. Been trying to get the link on my signature to my vBench but all I get is
http://www.planetarmor.com/images/vbench.jpg (http://www.planetarmor.com/forums/index.php?showforum=114)

I made sure to type insert image , that's about it! I cannot get my avatar to work, it specifies 64x64, but mine is 65x65, i'm done for one bit, don't tell me!

Is it possible to add an avatar resizer. Like when I have a cool picture (lets say 700x700 pixels) I want to use, then maybe it could be automatically resized when submitted?
The smiles are good, but maybe there could be more?;)

Thanks Paul
I think it's only possible to add an image but not the link

I tried resizing the avatar to 43 x 60 and it still doesn't work. I think we got to wait for Gordy to fix it.

That's a cool clip. The sound of the waves is very calming. Been playing it at work and been getting lots of funny looks from my work mates :D

Here's another tip - to view all post in the last 24 hours
Go to Quick Links select Today's Post

You can also now set the time to your local time
Go to Quick Links select Edit Options. Scroll down to Time & Date Options and choose your Timezone

But my signature and avatar still not working :(

what do you mean it is not working? any error messages?

I fixed your sig ;)
The "Similar Threads" at the end of each thread is really neato :)

The signature code looks correct but when you click on it, it brings you to the Forums page instead of personal vBench. The status bar still displays the correct code but the wrong page is shown.

For the Avatar, I tried to save a JPG file but it says "This GIF image has the incorrect file extension."

The similar threads is very cool.

Is there a way of searching posts from longer than yesterday. In the old site, you had Active Topics and in that page, on the top right, you could do a quick search based on the dates. The new search requires that you enter a keyword everytime.

what type of file is it? a gif or jpg?
I like how a 'quick reply' doesn't reload the page :)

It's a jpg file.

Yeah the Quick Reply is good but would be better if it had emoticons as well.

Another question (sorry for all these questions), I get logged off after a while. Can we disable this? How long is the auto log off time?

I noticed that once I am logged off, there's a Today's Post on the toolbar. This moves to Quick Links after log in.

Great if we can add a link to vBench on the top toolbar as well.

Thanks Gordy :) I know you are working hard to keep us happy!

Gordy, tried the upload attachment feature but the size is so small- I think 700 dpi is better than the 320 or whatever is there now.... also I use to like using the http link that you could name and then someone could click on that text, much like a thumbnail works but this setup doesn't seem to have it - or perhaps I've missed something?

gordy
09-04-2006, 12:33 AM
dpi? or do you mean pixels? show me an example post.. also that link is a tiff and it doesn't open in my browser...

The upload will create a clickable thumbnail (too prevent gargantuan images from scrolling right - not everyone runs their desktop at high resolutions)

James Tainton
09-04-2006, 12:53 AM
yeah I meant pixels.... I like the thumbnail I know that one...- it's just 320 pixels wide for the big one...-you can't see much detail. Like the post with the picture of the germans in my latest post in Axis- I couldn't read what was carved in stone in the picture at 320... I uploaded the pic to a third party place to have it a proper size...
