Hi,

I started painting my Tiger II today and I was thinking, how long is the minimum time I have to wait for the paint to dry before I can add a coat of humbrol gloss? Also how long is the minimum time before I can add a wash on top of the gloss? I use enamels.
I usually let the paint dry at least 24 hours and a gloss coat for about 48 hours. I was planning on finishing it before monday (before the school year starts), so I don't have that amount of time and I don't want to mess up the model because I was too impatient.

All the best
Siim

It depends on the weather... but to be sure you wonīt have any regrets, wait 48 hours. If you have used Tamiya as a base, and then humbrol for washes, gloss varnish is not necessary. Be careful with the medium you use with humbrol as it can be to strong and attack plastic and previous coats of paint.

In the end I have written quite a lot for saying nothing you didnīt know

You could wait 48 hours for Tamiya and go directly to humbrol...

Antonio
