Hello
In my opinion the Panzer Tracks No 13 is waste of money
It is mainly text listing of technical stuff, few pictures and some scale drawnings.
The Museum Ordnance book is better. I have it in pdf format if anyone is interested

Marco,
If you show the wheels turned, all the wheels should turn not just the front and rear. Just cut off the pins on the middle 4 axles. Is that the Cyber Hobby update? Only 4 new axles?

Is that the Cyber Hobby update? Only 4 new axles?
Yes...the workable axles are came from Cyber Hobby conversion pack...it contained 8 new axles...

Vinnie did a review on Armorama, it seems the new axles are the same as the kit parts, just without the pins. Seems like something you could have done your self, kind of a gimmick. But it includes the ammo bins, so I would probably buy one if I ever do one of these (unless someone like Aber does a PE set for it).

Hi Evan,
The only problem with the CH update is you'llnever see them once you're done as they are hidden. :o I am beggining to think that it was a stretch for them to come up with something good for the 234/1

Another excellent soldering work on the ammo racks! Amazing how you managed to keep the partitions so straight and then able to solder those little straps on all the while making sure the whole thing doesn't fall apart. Man, that scares me.

Got it from Tristar shop two weeks ago for HK$495. Not sure if they still have stock. There are 6 photos of the 234/1 and two of the 234/4. The photos are new to me and as far as I know it covers all wheeled armored vehicles. It is hardcover with 240 pages. I think it's worth browsing through before you buy. If you plan to build more panzerspahwagens, then it's a worthwhile buy. I also picked up the Pz IV Ausf A to Auf F at war as well. That is a good book as well. The only negative I can say for both books is that some photos are not that clear and grainy and that the captions could be better.

These are 2 cm German AA Flak shells

This displays shows 2 cm German Anti-Tank shells. There are three groups and from left to right - Czech, German and Italian
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j263/lquah/IMG_4033.jpg
The display descriptions were not that detailed and I am not sure if these are the same shells that are used by the 234/1.

Hi Lawrence,
I appreciate it ;) it is very helpful
Marco,
The 234/1 looks great. Sanding on all those tires and rims was big fun eh? After looking at your last post I AM going to order that Armorscale barrel. It looks to nice not to use. Not to mention it is more correct dimensionally then the Schatton one? Great work once again, I look forward to watching your progress everyday. :thumb:

It would be a pity if such a nicely built model would show an incorrect paint scheme...Please consider that these is the late (End 44-early 45 ) factory scheme and that , AFAIK, it was only applied to "late" (Two bin in fenders) 234/1.
By the way, looks like Dragon has changed the scheme from their original drawings in his 234/4...
Hi FJ,
Thanks for your head up...that means if I go with the early version...I should use the 4 bins Fender instead of 2...and the scheme should follows the box art ;)
Thanks again...

You could also do something like this...Looks like faded whitewash on a "standard cammo " late. A real challenge for any painter ;) From the Frontline Ilustration "Konigsberg 45" title .Cheers.

Hi Marco,
It looks great! This is definately my favorite version of this vehicle.
Only two pe straps when you need 12?*&$^ Why? that's the kind of marketing bull that really burns my hide, and also what keeps me from buying their sets, which have much less details than if you buy some pe from another company.
Ok, I'm done.

I'm attaching the tools onto the fenders...however, I found that DML has provided different tools location for different version of Fenders (Early & Late)...but they only showed the early version on their instruction sheet. Cannot found the instruction...for where are the tools location for the "Late" fenders.
Left Fender
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i319/LeungKwokOn/Marco-PA-Forum-Pictures/DML%20234-1/DML-234-1-73.jpg
Right Fender - see the different fixed guide pins location for the early & late Fender...
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i319/LeungKwokOn/Marco-PA-Forum-Pictures/DML%20234-1/DML-234-1-74.jpg
I have checked my reference...there are same tools location for early & late fenders...the different between early & late fenders are different qty of the storwagen bins...
Can anyone help to clarify this issue for me ;)
Cheers,
Marco

I´m afraid that what Dragon has done is using the same "late" fenders mould for both 234/4 and 234/1. Not taking into account the different layout of tool stowage in both vehicles; so on "late fenders" you have got the locating holes for both shovels and axe and pick (In forward part of left and right mudguards) and tool stowage box (On Right mudguard) of 234/4. The right late fender is also missing (Or it looks like that from your picture) the row of three bolts that fixed the front part of the mudguards to the rear part on the upper surface....I hope you understand what I mean, my English is not very good.
AFAIK like you say there were no difference in tool stowage between 234/1 early and late, just the bin number and hinge positioning in these...
Thanks...FJ...understood...and...
Your English is better than me ;)
Completed the Fenders...and dry fit onto the vehicle...

Awesome work on the build, Marco! Those width indicators, do they come with the kit? I could do with a couple of them, for my 222! :)
Thanks...Paul ;)
The width indicators are came from the kit...at 2 in lengthen for front fenders and 2 shorten for rear fenders...
If you would like to get the width indicators for your Sd Kfz 222...try to get it from AFV Club or Voyager...I had 3 boxes width indicators from AFV Cub ;)
