SAM reminded me of Steve's (http://www.planetarmor.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2312&view=findpost&p=16643)
(I think it was his -I only met him the one time...) Panther that I saw at Calgary last Sept.
I thought some of you Panther freaks would like to see some pictures that I took.

Excellent work! It would be a shame to cover this one up, and add a paint job. Maybe Steve will do another so he can paint it :D ;)

Yeah, I need to get that book. Steven Van Beveren was the 1st person I ever traded models with abroad. I learned about customs the hard way w/our deal - he was a very forgiving person. I was very sorry and grateful at the same time. I had sent him a Panther :o and did not mark the package as a gift.

Now that's some very great scratchbuilding. It's a panther that doesn't deserve paint ;)

Hey James
That is the same one we saw in Calgary.
If you look really close you can make some of the original kit he forgot to improve.
You should also check out the Luchs he did.

Brilliant work, the best Panther I've ever seen before paint. I bought this book as soon as it became available and I think its fantastic.

Thanks for posting James.

Cheers, Willy.

James,

Thanks for posting these photos. It was a little bit like travelling back in time for me.

Also thanks to all those that commented on the model.

Below are some pics of the Aber radio set that both James and Sam mentioend. I think they were almost as much work as the rest of the kit. But I think they were worth it!

Hey Hi How ya doing Jack Ass? ;) :)
Nice to see ya post. Was not exactly sure if you would mind or not if I posted these pics, some people can be a bit odd about it when you post pics of their work from shows.
Glad to see you aren't bothered. Thanks for the post of the Aber radio set. I wonder if you may have a few other choice ones you'd like to share? BTW - going to Calgary again? Not sure myself but 50/50 chance right now that I'll find the time and/or money. Was this Panther yours as well?

Wow. That looks amazing. I would really like to see some more pics of how Steve corrected the front hull plate, and the drivers periscope.

To Panzerfaust:
Nice Panther A early, could you tell me what putty you used, and how you got the dimpling in the putty? Where did you get the engine deck stowage boxes?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Marc, that is Steve's Panther as well. He used two part Mori Mori polyester putty to do the zimmerit. :)

Cheers, Willy.

Truly Impressive builds. The Aber radio set I think tops James' Pz IV stowage bin for over the top PE (Soz James)!

Then you should probably buy the book. It has pics of the painted models in it and is a good overall technique book as well.

I don't usually buy modelling guides as the kits get outdated too quickly but this is one book that is well worth the money.

I agree, Steves title on Panthers is very good, shame about the LSW coming out from DML shortly after (isn't that always the case when you finish a super detailed/ converted model :D)
I will have it next to my model when i finaly start on (any of the 6 in waiting :o) myPanther.
