Hi all...

I'm new to this site, so I think it would be in place, that I introduce myself.
My name is John van Hooijdonk, I'm almost 40 years of age, and I live in the southern part of the Netherlands...near Einhoven to be more specific.
After a 4 year break, I've picked up modelling a few years ago. I am in no means a pro, but I like what I'm doing, and that's the most important!!
I joined the Royal Netherlands Airforce 21 years ago, and still hangin' in there, first I was employed for 18 years as an air traffic controller, but the last 3 years I was transferred to the Cargo Wing as an flight dispatcher.

So, now you all know a bit more about me, and I hope to share some pictures of my work in the near future...

Greetz from Holland, John.

Howdy DRAGONWAGON!

Mighty glad to welcome you aboard! It seems like we're building a nice little group of modeler's here. So your company is much appreciated.
I do have one silly request though....if you don't mind. ;-)
Could you do a phoenetic spelling of your last name....because as it's spelled it's quite intriguing to say the least......;-)

thx.

Tread.

Hi TreadHead....

I know, Dutch is not a language...but a thoatdissease!!
But I'll give a try on the phoenetic version of my last name:
the first part has to sound like "hooj", As in "boy", but then with an extended oo sound, the second part has to sound exactly like the first part of donkey...simply leave out the ey part, and you've got it dead-on...

HTH, John with the difficult last name...LOL

Howdy John,

Many thx for the detailed explanation, and your indulgence. In mouthing your last name out loud I think I just spoke my very first word in Dutch! ;)

warm regards,

Tread.
