scribing lines to seperate the planks..

using a blunt tipped tool to engrave the narrow divisions (I wanted the to planks to be alittle off parallel to each other wider apart at the front and narrower at the rear, for realism, as per photos)..

using the wrong end of a xacto-blade to engrave the wider seperations..

another touch of realism, dragging a curved blade to scallop the centers of the planks to give them a curled, weathered look..
