So because of a FAQ about posting pictures here at pA I am creating this sticky for the purpose of answering those queries.

So to start. You need to have pictures hosted somewhere on the net. Some places work better than others. Also anyone with anything to add to this thread please feel free to pipe in.
Me I have used Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) in the past and right now I use KitPic (http://www.kitpic.com/). I also had some web space provided by my internet provider where I could upload stuff with a FTP program. I also now have my own domain panzerfaust (http://panzerfaust.ca/) where I can upload and link pictures, music, etc. All images need .jpeg or .jpg for them to work.

this is what you see right after a successful upload.
Two address formats are provided the raw http address and one with the image Tags already included. If you just copy and paste this address into your post text window you won't need to use the IMG button described below.

Network 54 and a few others don't work because of limitations that they have placed on the accounts regarding direct linking.

So then once that is established and you can't just copy and paste the URL with the IMG tags already included, you need to get the URL address and then copy and paste it into the posting interface dialogue box that is provided by this sites software. There are different ways you can do this. The simplest is to click the IMG button above the text window and when a drop down box appears paste the URL address into the space provided.

Click okay. The URL link will appear in the text box with the front and back tag attached. This is computer language stuff that makes the image appear in your post. You can create these tags manually with the keyboard if you so wish, (notice the slash on the end tag.)
You can either preview your post or if you like post it immediately.

There is also a way to use a thumbnail and link to a larger image, this will save on band width issues.
You will need to have the original sized image and a thumbnail uploaded to your host site. Once that is done find the URL for the big image first and copy it. Then in your post interface click the http:/ button and when the drop down box appears paste the http address. Then click okay
when you do this another address box drops down that says my web space this is the place where you need to add the URL for the thumb. I just type in a random letter to keep everything moving then within the text posting dialogue box I'll copy the URL of the thumbnail and paste it in the spot between the square brackets replacing the a in this case with the address. This needs to have http://www.kitpic.com/is.php?i=27823&img=http1.jpg
