I am busily working away on my "Converting & Detailing Plastic Figures" book for Hard Corps Publishing. One of the major pieces for the book is a "1945 German Retreat Diorama", that involves 24 figures, three horses, two wagons and a base.

I have finished converting and painting of the first 12 figures for the diorama, so I thought that I'd share some of them here.

The three prone wounded figures will be riding in one of the wagons.

Hope you like 'em,

Bill

Heya, Bill,

Great stuff, as always... Will the book include descriptions of your painting techniques as well...?

Recently picked up your Warriors LCVP crew --- great figures! Looking forward to an LCM crew, too! :)

Looking forward to your book!

Much Aloha,

John B.

Hi John, glad that you liked the LCVP crew, I am considering doing an LCM crew, in the midst of a hot beach landing with both MGs blazing away and the coxswain at the helm.

Dave Harper and I are working on a diorama of a WW2 LCM6 "Gun Boat", complete with a "Bofars" gun and many MGs. I will do one off original figures for it.

As far as my painting techniques, I won't bother covering them in the book. I use the same technique as clearly described in the Brett Avants book "Painting Figures in Acrylics", published by Letterman Publications. By far the best book available on the acrylic painting technique.

Bill, a voice from the past. Good luck with the book. I look forward to picking it up for my reference.
