Hey all,

I've picked up Trumpeter's KV-2 yesterday which looks pretty cool btw. After having a quick peek online at what AM sets are available, I liked the look of the Lion Roar set which I can pick up from Hobby Easy for $21 Aus.

Lion Roar KV-2 Update (http://www.hobbyeasy.com/LoadProduct.do?productid=22455)

So a couple of questions, as I'm building this kit for next years Wheels & Tracks KV theme, I was wondering has anybody else built this kit and if so do you think it needs the upgrade or not?

Cheers
Darren

Well, I built mine when it first came out, before there was any aftermarket stuff for it, and was more than pleased with the result. I was in the middle of a large diorama, and wanted something just for a break. I was more than happy with the kit OOB, but that's just me. Some guys need the p.e. The engine grilles are the only thing that could use replacement. If you just want a great looking kit, go for it!

Nice work Darren, KV's are ace.

One thing, the Golden Sprocket comp is OOB/ENH only, so no aftermarket!

Thinking of having a shot at the title ey Hilly? ;)

From memory:

Drill out exhausts & barrels
Add battle damage to fenders etc.
Add aerials
5 pieces of stowage (besides that included in the kit).
Thin parts if moulded too think...eg fenders.
Change paint scheme.

Good luck with your KV I or II.

Willy.

Hehehehe someone has to knock you off your perch willy, 2 years in a row.....and i can't even win my own memorial trophy.....doh....

What Willy has listed is the allowable mods to the kits for the golden sprocket comp.

Good to see both Hilly and Little Ken contemplating a build for it. Looks like this will be a popular choice for next years theme..... :) with so many people already talking about and starting kits it should be a cracker....
