Hey, everyone!
Does anyone prime their German AFVs in the red-oxide color? If so, what brands / colors of paint are you using to get that color?
Cheers! ;)

Hey Jackal , see you are having fun with the colour feature
I go by this...
RAL 8012, red primer: I have not yet made anexact match; Humbrol 113 is close but the RAL colour was darker.

I use Tamiya hull red. It looks very close to the right colour. You can add tint to it also to make it slightly different. I also use the matt stuff they make whick makes it look a bit frosted and course. hth

Jakal, don't get to too bogged down with primer colour. I've seen the inside of boxes in a Panther that are exactly Tamiya XF-7 Red, and also primer that looks hull red or even orange. If you look at these colour shots and also what happens when we grey scale them, you'll see its pretty difficult to exactly match up even known camo colours let alone what primer the armour manufacturer used.

Just use what you think looks right, no one can say you're wrong. ;)

Here here Willy! Its about effect and if you achieve an effect that looks right to your eye then your in.
Jackal, Enjoy the fact that it is a mystery and experiment with the red brown color in different shades, when you have something that looks realistic with what you are building go with it. ;)
