I'm a relatively new member here, but I had an idea for a new forum last night and thought I'd throw the idea out for you to think about.

I thought it might be nice to have a "Tutorials" or "How To" forum that would gather together all of the great Tutorials that members write. I've seen several great guides such as the soldering guide by sam dwyer and the base painting tutorial by ian hill (brokeneagle). These were excellent tutorials with lots of great information...

For someone like myself, who is returning to the hobby after a long absence, these guides are invaluable! :)

Anyway, I'm just throwing this out as an idea... keep up the great work everyone!

Cheers! ;)

P.S. Some other tutorials I'd like to see...

Bryan,
Those are great ideas and are being worked on, the idea behind the vBench is to have them well documented and suitable to be turned into articles (i'm working on some for James - great example) within the lengthy vBench article is sub-articles suitable for what you just mention, having those set aside would make a great feature.

So it's wise to keep that in mind while using the vBench as what is posted there can be 'lifted' and made into an article ;)

Here you go, not on PA, but very good helpful articles nonetheless.

Weld seams:

Tips for putting together workable track links: (this is for Friuls but still very good)

As for texturing hulls, well there are tips out there, but it can depend on the effect you are looking for, ie. rolled armor plate, (most WW2 German) or cast armor. It's just a matter of figuring out what effect you want. For what I think is possibly the best way of simulating rolled plate, check out Darren Gawle's DML Tiger II post on his vBench here on PA.

HTH,
Mike (oh by the way, I think you have a good idea!)
