I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to do a wash. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

LKC,
I think there are two different approaches.........
1. Wash the whole vehicl as a kind of stain with a dark dirty brown /black.
2. Detail wash the cracks and surface detail with a fine brush leaving your base color as is.
The wash I use is a mix of artists oils that I mix with 'Turps' in a jar. I use a small amount of black, a large amount of Burn't Umber and Raw umber and 95% turpentine. ;)
