I still have the figures , wire and general stuff still to do as well as a Quad 20 mm AA in the bunker. I will use the new DML set that has Germans surrendering..... Georgian legion.
As you can see it will be after the action as the bunker has 'cop'd a right beating' which is why I am in need of surrendering figures. I still need to purchase some turned barrels for the Quad 20 as well as some brass. Inspired by Amba's work on his single 20mm. Fantastic work! Check it out if you get the chance. ;)

Georgian Legion, I do not believe they are Gen2 although they are one of Dragons later figure releases. Yes they are good for Normandy. They were designed for the Normandy campaign.

Sammy,
thanks for the photo info. It is quite different to ML so I am still getting the hang of it.

das ist etwas schöne Arbeit.
Always good to get some talented people posting pics of their work. Only wish some of the other 600 or so "lurkers" would do as much. :(
(and the avatar, what's not to like?)

panzerfaust,
thank you for your reply. Glad you like it. It will look better when it is finished. Also , the avatar is a photo of a 1:1 scale cyborg soldier I built from scratch a while back and he now follows me everywhere. He is always watching.............

Awesome bunker, Ian! Is that a verlinden product or something else? And the groundwork and painting of your base is fantastic! What do you build up your bases with?
Cheers! ;)

Thanks guys...........
Jackal,
yes it is a Verlinden bunker from about 15 years back. I have added all the damage and the rio wire , cracks etc.
The ground work is built up with thin foam sheets and cut to shape around the bunker. I rat them from the box's from different appliances we get over the years. This then gets covered in DAS modelling clay and the ground gets put onto this. If you go to the finishing section you will find a post on small bases that is a step by step on painting but it has a bit at the start on building. Maybe I will do a pre- painting step by step next.

Finally got my surrendering figures for the bunker today. [Thanks Mic B].

The figures are really well carved and the poses are very realistic. My only complaint is the helmuts. They seem a little on the tall side. Has anyone else found that with the DML figures? It could be they are correct and the rest are wrong?
I quickly put the torso's etc together after dinner for a picture but they still have cleaning up to be done as well as equipment to go on.
Anyway here they are............

Check out the helmut! Almost looks like a WW1 vintage without the Frankenstein bolts on the side!

You also get some nice arm shields for the uniforms........... ;)

And I think their weapons have improved as well, the mp 40 is certainly better. ;)

It's going to be a good one, that's for sure! I know what you mean about the helmets, I always thought there was something strange about them. But the helmets in the new Gen 2 sets are pretty nice.

Ian,
I'm not sure how I missed this badboy the first time around! What a great bit of work on that bunker! The only comment I might have (and you may have done this, but I can't see it in the pics) would be to maybe have a bit of damage to the turret (like a hit from a bazooka possibly - if they used those during the Normandy landings that is). With all that damage to the cement I would expect a bit of damage to the turret too considering they would have been receiving fire from it. Great work with the damage. I can't wait to see more of this. What figures will you be using for the Allied captors?

avukich,
you are right, I overlooked the turret. :( I will add some small arms damage and a penertration shot.
Allied captors will be Yanks but I am still looking..... not sure yet. They will probably end up being a mix with some resin and plastic.
The really hard part will be all the Bwire I have to add along the front. I am going to scratch a lot of it so it will be tedious.
