Academy doesn't really give the make of the truck but I'm pretty sure it would be Opel.
Academy did a much better job on this
kit compared to their GMC, which has more injector
marks than my ass has hair.
Looks to be a box shaker and I'll obviously be doing
the late war version so I've got something to park next
to my yellow tailed JG26 Dora.
So far there's really nothing out of the ordinary to note, but I'll be posting pics here as I go along. The bed line up does look at little funny and I've got to find some good pics of the real thing before committing, but that's about it.
Cheers,
Donovan

Hi,
do you mean Academy's GMC truck with accessories? I haven't really looked into it but looks nice in the box. I was hoping to use it in either Western or Eastern front as OOTB but your news depress me :(

Yeah that's the kit. I bought it for a quick OOTB build over a weekend. Opened the box and like you I was happy...then I started looking at all the injector pin marks that will need to be filled. Most of these of very visible.
Add to that the fact that the hard top has no hole for the turret ring, nor does it supply the ring itself and your are looking at more scratch building work that I wanted out of the kit.
Filling the holes isn't such a big deal with a Waldron punch and some time, it is just a PITA, but the lack of turret ring in a real problem. The hole in the cab, easy enough to cut out, but scratching the ring/mount, not so easy for me.
Although I've seen what you can do so for you this may be no problem.
I'd either pass or expect a longer build.

Hi Christopher,
thank you for kind words but I'll look into how much energy I have to do anything with that model :) Bad news for ootb project
This week I'll try to resume modelling as weddings are past now.

So here is probably the last thing I'll finish this year,
the 1/72 Academy Cargo Truck. Pretty nice little model,
but expensive for what you get.
Been trying to decide what to put in the bed of the
truck. It will probably go on an airfield and I thought
about using the guns from a Fw-190, partially covered
with a tarp and minus the blast tubes of course. I dunno.
So for now I just tossed a couple barrels in the back. :)
I used MV products for the headlights and drilled out the
lightening holes in the rear wheels, other than that it is OOB.
Cheers,
Donovan
