A new project AFV Club's new plastic tracks. Tracks are quite ingeniously designed so glueing together is quite easy.
Tracks are made of two parts so it is easier than glueing together DML's sets. Downside is that there are ejector marks that must be cleaned.

Small set glueded together.

Fitting to DML's sprocket wheel. Fit is good as there is some "flex" to allow tracks sit nicely.

I will put these to DML Late Tiger I...Someday that is:)

And, forgot to mention that tracks are fully workable.

Hi,
yes there are knock pins in every track and all of those must be removed. I was careless as I was doing my test bit but rest will be better handled :)
Anyway, I was thinking if AFV's tracks are any better than DML's Magic tracks or Model Kasten's or Friul's.
I'd say that there is less work than with MK that has more parts per track but less clean up. Friul is a good option as those must only drilled and pinned but those are somewhat more expensive. DML tracks are not movable and new MT's have lot of parts to glue.
So if AFV tracks are going to be a lot cheaper than Friul, I'd choose those. I paid 17,50 pounds for this set.

thanks for taking the time to give us all a pek at these. I think I'll have to try some. One thing you say Friulmodel Tiger tracks- that you have to drill them... this is not right- I have yet to have to drill out any of the Friulmodel sets I've had.

James,
that's odd as I have done few Friul sets. I don't say that you should drill all shoes but some of them so it's easier to do them all at one session.
I have used wire provided by Friul, how about you? That just didn't fit as nice as I wanted.

I knew you will...I mean that...I don't know why they (AFV, DML...) alway have the knock out pins here...if they can improve it...that will be Great ;)

Those look nice  but I do have those stupid injector pin marks
Niko,
I have had to drill out some Fruilmodel track sets before myself...it wasn't that bad really...I can say that I prefer FM tracks to Modelkasten SK (workable) tracks... Also, I use a thicker wire...The wire they give is a piece of garbage...though it make be useful for other projects....

My least favorite part of modelling, the tracks. Damn knock out pins that need to be removed on every piece. Those AFV tracks look interesting, might have to give them a try some day.

Oh, got you wrong  Anyway, I agree that ejector pin marks are not acceptable. Luckily those seem to be higher so quite easily moved with knife.

I agree on that MK are too tedious compared to Friul. And I have settled with Friul wire. I know many say it's too soft but I don't know, has worked for me. What bothers me, is that you can't paint pins that show through links. Pins are too shiny and look unrealistic. Something darker wire should be used but I haven't figured out yet which wire would be suitable.
