Screens over Sherman Wading Trunks...?

Heya, Folks,

I'm building the Academy Marine M4A2 with the deep wading trunks...

I've seen many pictures of the trunks from afar, but never a close up. So, does anyone know if the trunk's openings were screened off? I would think so, given no one would want a Japanese grenade shoved into the trunks!!

Any pictures or advice would be appreciated.

Yes, there were screens over the lower part, which was wlwded to the tank. When the upper part was jettisoned after beaching, the big hoole was too inviting a target for grenades and satchel charges.
